About Me
I have been teaching since I can remember... from swim lessons at the public pool and YMCA in the town where I grew-up, to being an after school care and summer camp counselor throughout college and beyond. I have always been interested in science and earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a double major in Secondary Education from Elmhurst College. I student taught and got hired at York High School in Elmhurst and remained there for 7 years while also earning my Master's degree from Northern University in Curriculum and Instruction. I had my first child and taught for two more years, then stayed home. While home I had two more children, both boys. In the 9 years that followed, not only did I stay home and raise my 3 children, but I continued to remain active in the various schools they attended by volunteering on a regular basis. Two years ago, I took a long-term sub position teaching 7th grade science at Park Junior High. I absolutely loved teaching the middle school level and decided to finally go back to teaching full-time. Last year, I taught 8th grade science at Lincoln Middle School in Berwyn. Over this past summer, I realized that although I loved the middle school level and teaching science again, I really wanted to remain in the community and close to my family. St. Francis Xavier had an opening for 7th and 8th grade science and here I am!:) |
